About Margot & Mila

Margot & Mila was founded in 2016 after I left a career as a financial analyst in the City in search of a more creative, hands-on way of working. After several years working behind the scenes as a production manager within the jewellery industry, I began developing my own collection — drawing on the skills I’d learned along the way and deepening my practice through evening courses focused on traditional jewellery-making techniques.

The brand is rooted in a love of Victorian and Georgian antique jewellery, particularly the extraordinary attention to detail and craftsmanship found in pieces that were patiently carved and formed by hand. Through Margot & Mila, I aim to create a modern interpretation of this tradition — jewellery that feels timeless, slightly nostalgic, and rich with character, while still sitting comfortably in the present day.

Each piece begins with my own designs and is brought to life in my studio using a thoughtful mix of traditional silversmithing and wax-carving techniques. I work with recycled sterling silver and gold wherever possible, alongside carefully chosen components and handpicked charms, including one-off vintage finds discovered at antique fairs around the UK. Together, these elements form collections filled with symbols, trinkets, animals, and talismans — pieces designed to feel personal, playful, and quietly meaningful.

Quality and care sit at the heart of Margot & Mila. Precious metals are sourced from trusted suppliers in London’s Hatton Garden, stones are ethically sourced, and I continue to refine both my processes and packaging with environmental responsibility in mind. Final finishing is carried out with the help of expert polishers and engravers in London, ensuring each piece meets the highest standard.

Alongside my core studio-made collections, I also offer a bespoke service for one-of-a-kind commissions, including wedding bands, engraved jewellery, and custom designs created in close collaboration with clients. If you’re looking for something specific or deeply personal, I’m always happy to discuss ideas.

Margot & Mila is, above all, about thoughtful design, honest making, and jewellery that carries a sense of story — pieces to be worn, treasured, and passed on.

How My Jewellery Is Made

At Margot & Mila, every piece of jewellery begins with thoughtful design and a love of craft. While no two pieces are exactly the same, they are all created with care, intention, and an honest approach to making.

Design & Inspiration

All Margot & Mila pieces are designed by me, drawing inspiration from antique jewellery, symbolism, and the quiet beauty of everyday talismans. Many designs begin as sketches or wax carvings in my studio, where I explore form, texture, and balance before a piece is brought to life.

Studio-Made Pieces

My core collections are made in my UK studio using a combination of traditional jewellery-making techniques and carefully selected materials. Some elements are handcrafted by me, while others — such as chains, hoops and some charms — are sourced from trusted specialist suppliers. These components are chosen for their quality and durability, then thoughtfully assembled, finished, and quality-checked by hand to create each final piece.

Bespoke & One-of-a-Kind Jewellery

For bespoke commissions and one-off pieces, I work closely with clients to design something truly personal. These pieces are made individually, from the initial concept through to the final polish, and may involve techniques such as wax carving, hand fabrication, stone setting, and engraving.

Materials & Sourcing

I use recycled sterling silver and gold wherever possible, sourced from trusted suppliers in London’s Hatton Garden. Stones are ethically sourced, and vintage charms or found objects are occasionally incorporated into designs, giving certain pieces a unique history and character.

Finishing & Quality

Final finishing is carried out either in my studio or with the help of expert polishers and engravers in London. Every piece is carefully checked before it leaves the workshop, ensuring it meets the standard I would expect from jewellery made to be worn and loved for years to come.

A Thoughtful Approach

Jewellery-making today is often a collaborative process, combining individual craftsmanship with specialist expertise. I believe in being transparent about how my work is created, while focusing on what matters most — considered design, quality materials, and pieces made with care.
