Our Story

I founded Margot & Mila in 2016 after leaving behind a career as a financial analyst in the City and looking for something a little more creative to fill my days. I began working as a PA and production manager in the jewellery industry for around 3 years, until I was finally inspired in early 2015 to develop a collection using the skills I had previously learned, supplemented by various evening courses to build up my knowledge of the many processes involved in making jewellery by hand.

Margot & Mila was born out of a love for Victorian and Georgian antique jewellery and the incredible attention to detail involved in hand-carving intricate pieces from these eras over many hours. Through Margot & Mila I hope to create my own modern version of this art form, whilst keeping a vintage feel to each design. I use traditional silversmithing and wax carving techniques in making my collection pieces which I supplement with handpicked charms and one-off vintage finds from antique fairs I regularly visit around the country . Expect to find an array of charms, trinkets, animals, symbols and other personalised gifts that give their wearer a feeling of playful nostalgia.

Much of our collection at Margot & Mila is made from the highest quality recycled sterling silver and gold sourced from dealers in London's traditional jewellery district, Hatton Garden. Our stones are ethically sourced and we are continually working to update our processes and packaging to become more environmentally friendly.

We hope you enjoy browsing our unique products that have been lovingly created between our workshop in Frome with the help of our expert polishers and engravers in London. If you're looking for something specific that you don't see on our website I also offer a bespoke design service for one-off commission pieces including wedding bands, custom designs and engraved pieces - please just ask!
